Harmonic Analysis with Respect to Heat Kernel Measure
I survey developments over the last decade in harmonic analysis on Lie groups relative to a heat kernel measure. These include analogs of the Hermite expansion, the Segal-Bargmann transform, and the Taylor expansion. Some of the results can be understood from the standpoint of geometric quantization. Others are intimately related to stochastic analysis.
متن کاملIntegration with Respect to a Vector Measure and Function Approximation
The integration with respect to a vector measure may be applied in order to approximate a function in a Hilbert space by means of a finite orthogonal sequence {fi} attending to two different error criterions. In particular, if ∈ R is a Lebesgue measurable set, f ∈ L2( ), and {Ai} is a finite family of disjoint subsets of , we can obtain a measure μ0 and an approximation f0 satisfying the follow...
متن کاملThomson’s Theorem on Mean Square Polynomial Approximation
In 1991, J. E. Thomson determined completely the structure of H2(μ), the closed subspace of L2(μ) that is spanned by the polynomials, whenever μ is a compactly supported measure in the complex plane. As a consequence he was able to show that if H2(μ) = L2(μ), then every function f ∈ H2(μ) admits an analytic extension to a fixed open set Ω, thereby confirming in this context a phenomenon noted e...
متن کاملOn the harmonic index and harmonic polynomial of Caterpillars with diameter four
The harmonic index H(G) , of a graph G is defined as the sum of weights 2/(deg(u)+deg(v)) of all edges in E(G), where deg (u) denotes the degree of a vertex u in V(G). In this paper we define the harmonic polynomial of G. We present explicit formula for the values of harmonic polynomial for several families of specific graphs and we find the lower and upper bound for harmonic index in Caterpill...
متن کاملHarmonic Measure and Polynomial Julia Sets
There is a natural conjecture that the universal bounds for the dimension spectrum of harmonic measure are the same for simply connected and for non-simply connected domains in the plane. Because of the close relation to conformal mapping theory, the simply connected case is much better understood, and proving the above statement would give new results concerning the properties of harmonic meas...
